Introducing the Brazos Valley Venue of PMI
The Brazos Valley venue of the PMI Houston chapter is forming in Bryan/ College Station.The Brazos Valley venue will seek to advance and support the Project Management profession throughout the Brazos Valley area. As part of the Houston chapter, one of the largest and most dynamic PMI chapters in the world, Brazos Valley venue members will enjoy many benefits, such as opportunities for networking locally as well as internationally, career fairs, first rate conferences, blogs from industry professionals and members, information on upcoming networking and social events, job postings, training opportunities at discounted rates, links to other chapters and much more.
Brazos Valley venue meetings will be held quarterly at various locations in the Brazos Valley.

Topic: The Project Management Institute (PMI) - An Update from PMI Members and Other Project Managers
The Project Management Institute has experienced dramatic growth, since it was established in 1969. This presentation will address the importance of PMI, emphasize the number of project management standards and research publications freely available to PMI members, and discuss the certification programs offered to project and program managers. A description of PMI’s Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3) will also be provided, highlighting the strategic importance of this model for PMOs and for overall organizational effectiveness in the management of portfolios, programs, and projects.
